RANCHASSIST™ WATER REQUIREMENT CALCULATOR
TERMS OF SERVICE
Effective date: August 30, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern use of the standalone RanchAssist™ Water Requirement Calculator (the “Calculator”). They are a product-specific draft based on the current Calculator design and should be reviewed and adapted by the site operator before publication, including the operator’s legal name, governing law, contact information, and any business-specific terms not contained in the current project materials.
1. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS
By accessing or using the Calculator, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Calculator.
2. PURPOSE OF THE CALCULATOR
The Calculator is a planning utility that helps users estimate livestock water demand and selected water-system capacity measures from user-entered assumptions.
Depending on the inputs provided, the Calculator may estimate:
- Base livestock water demand
- Normal condition-adjusted daily demand
- Peak hot-weather daily demand
- Hourly peak planning demand
- Required emergency reserve storage
- Combined trough capacity
- Total on-site water capacity
- Gallons of stored water available per head
- Capacity surplus or deficit versus a selected reserve target
- Full refill time
- Minimum source GPM required to replace one modeled peak-day demand volume within a selected recovery period
- Point-level demand and source-flow comparisons when Advanced water-point allocation is enabled
3. PLANNING ESTIMATES ONLY
The Calculator provides planning estimates based on the information and assumptions entered by the user. Outputs are not guarantees, certifications, warranties, professional opinions, or site-specific determinations.
The Calculator does not certify animal-welfare, plumbing, pump, well, storage, water-quality, engineering, regulatory, or safety compliance.
Actual livestock water needs and system performance may vary with livestock class, animal condition, weather, humidity, water quality, travel distance, shade, feed, salt intake, health, source reliability, pump performance, plumbing, trough access, equipment, terrain, management practices, and other site conditions.
You are responsible for determining whether an assumption or result is appropriate for your circumstances and for obtaining qualified local professional guidance where appropriate.
4. USER-ENTERED ASSUMPTIONS
The Calculator may provide editable example values for livestock classes and planning assumptions. These values are examples and are not presented as universally applicable recommendations.
You are responsible for reviewing and adjusting all inputs, including gallons per head per day, temperature assumptions, forage adjustments, lactation adjustment, safety factor, reserve duration, peak drinking window, trough capacity, storage capacity, source flow, recovery period, and water-point allocation.
5. CALCULATION TRANSPARENCY
The Calculator includes Calculation Details intended to show the formulas and active inputs used in the estimate. You should review those details before relying on an output for planning.
RanchAssist may update calculation logic, validation, warnings, interfaces, or rounding behavior over time. When a saved .ra project is opened in a compatible later version, derived results may be recalculated using the current tool logic.
6. NO PROFESSIONAL RELATIONSHIP
Use of the Calculator does not create a veterinarian-client-patient relationship, engineering relationship, contractor-client relationship, legal relationship, financial advisory relationship, or other licensed professional relationship.
7. PROJECT FILES AND SESSION DATA
The Calculator follows a session-first model.
Active project state may use browser sessionStorage for current-session resilience. sessionStorage is not permanent saving.
Where supported, you may save the editable project as a RanchAssist .ra project file. .ra files are user-controlled local files and are not RanchAssist cloud storage merely because the Calculator created them.
You are responsible for saving, securing, backing up, retaining, and deleting your local project files and exports.
8. EXPORTS AND SHARING
The Calculator may support CSV export, PDF through a print workflow, printing, Copy Summary, and email sharing.
Exports and shared summaries may contain user-entered project information, assumptions, notes, calculated results, warnings, and timestamps. You are responsible for reviewing an export before sharing it and for choosing appropriate recipients.
9. EMAIL SHARING
In the Google Apps Script deployment, email sharing may use Apps Script MailApp. You may only send summaries to addresses you are authorized to use for that purpose.
Do not use the Calculator to send spam, unlawful messages, abusive content, or content that violates another person’s rights.
10. ACCEPTABLE USE
You agree not to:
- Use the Calculator for unlawful purposes
- Attempt to interfere with or disrupt the Calculator or its hosting environment
- Attempt to bypass security, validation, access, or usage controls
- Upload or import executable code through project files
- Attempt to inject malicious scripts or content into project fields or imported data
- Submit passwords, private API keys, authentication tokens, or other secrets as project data
- Misrepresent Calculator outputs as RanchAssist certifications, professional approvals, or guaranteed requirements
- Use automated methods in a manner that materially degrades service for other users or violates the hosting platform’s rules
11. .RA PROJECT FILE SAFETY
RanchAssist .ra project files are intended to contain project data, not executable code or private application credentials.
The Calculator may reject a project file if it is invalid, incomplete, corrupt, belongs to another RanchAssist tool, or was created with an unsupported newer format.
You should only open .ra files from sources you trust and should keep backups of important project files.
12. AVAILABILITY AND CHANGES
The Calculator may be modified, updated, suspended, replaced, or discontinued. Features may depend on the browser, device, Google Apps Script deployment, service quotas, permissions, or hosting environment.
RanchAssist does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.
13. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
The Calculator may rely on third-party platforms or services for hosting or optional features. For example, a Google Apps Script deployment may use Google infrastructure, and email sharing may use Apps Script MailApp.
Third-party services are governed by their own terms, availability, quotas, and policies. RanchAssist is not responsible for a third-party service’s independent acts or omissions to the extent permitted by law.
14. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated by the site operator, the RanchAssist name, product design, software, page content, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
These Terms do not grant you ownership of RanchAssist intellectual property. You may use the Calculator for its intended purpose, subject to these Terms.
Any licensing terms for source code distributed separately by the project owner should be stated in the relevant repository, download, or license file. This draft does not invent a source-code license that was not supplied in the current project materials.
15. USER CONTENT
You retain responsibility for the project information and notes you enter. You represent that you have the right to use and share the information you provide through the Calculator.
Do not enter content that is unlawful, infringes another person’s rights, or contains credentials or secrets that should not be stored in a project file or report.
16. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE CALCULATOR IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF ACCURACY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, MERCHANTABILITY, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE CALCULATOR WILL MEET A PARTICULAR OPERATIONAL, ANIMAL-WELFARE, ENGINEERING, REGULATORY, OR BUSINESS REQUIREMENT.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty disclaimers, so some of the above may not apply to you.
17. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE SITE OPERATOR, RANCHASSIST, AND THEIR OWNERS, AFFILIATES, CONTRIBUTORS, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, BUSINESS, ANIMALS, WATER SUPPLY, EQUIPMENT, OR OPPORTUNITY, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE CALCULATOR.
Any limitation of direct liability, liability cap, exclusions required by local law, or operator-specific legal language should be reviewed and completed by the site operator’s legal counsel before publication. This draft does not invent a monetary liability cap that was not supplied in the project materials.
18. INDEMNIFICATION
To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for claims, losses, liabilities, or expenses arising from your unlawful use of the Calculator, violation of these Terms, or infringement of another person’s rights.
The final scope of any indemnification provision should be reviewed by the site operator’s legal counsel.
19. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES
The current project materials do not specify the legal entity operating the published Calculator, governing law, venue, arbitration terms, or dispute-resolution process.
Before publication, the site operator should add an appropriate governing-law and dispute-resolution section based on the operator’s actual legal entity and jurisdiction rather than using an invented location or clause.
20. TERMINATION
You may stop using the Calculator at any time. The site operator may restrict or terminate access for misuse, security reasons, legal requirements, or service changes, subject to applicable law.
21. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
The site operator may update these Terms as the Calculator, business, integrations, or legal requirements change. The effective date should be updated when material revisions are published.
22. CONTACT
Before publication, the site operator should add the current RanchAssist legal or support contact method here. No specific legal contact address was supplied in the current project materials, so this draft does not invent one.
23. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with the published Privacy Policy and any additional terms expressly presented with the Calculator, constitute the agreement governing use of the Calculator, subject to applicable law.
